The Bruins Have Won.

By Philip DeVeno | June 16, 2011

Well Boston has won game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. Thomas completed a shutout, the first in a final to win the MVP. I hate to say this, but is Boston the new title town. They seem to always be contenders in every sport. Is there a formula to the way the franchises are working in New England. Anyway as we in Chicago pass the torch or cup as they put it, to the Bruins, who deserve it more than most, I feel a little sad that we didn’t get another chance at it. I’m starting to feel empathy for Roberto Luongo, who may have to leave Vancouver in the middle of the night like Bill Buckner did so long ago. There is a little Red Sox shout out for you. I watched as Vancouver fans started a riot, and thought did we in Chicago start rioting when we were cheated of the winning goal in game 7 vs. the Canucks in the playoffs, no I think not. Well Boston enjoy it while you can, because we will we back with a vengence next year. Go Hawks.

Too Much Heat For Chicago

By Philip DeVeno | May 23, 2011

Well sports fans, the Heat saved their best play for last. The top seeded Bulls won game one of The Eastern Conference Finals, but game two and three came with double digit loses for the Tom Thibs defense. The change in momentum can be attributed to the return of Haslem to the Heats roster in game 2. Our offense has been great at times, but isn’t consistant enough to match the Heats. Our defense has been directly attributed to our success, but hasnt been good enough to hold off the explosive Wade, James, and Bosh trio. Chris Bosh has been lights out and has disrupted the durable Bulls defensive system. We need to be better, offensively and defensively. We need to get back to what got us here, straight up streetball. Noah needs to play smart, Korver needs to start getting hot, and Boozer needs to start playing ball. If we want to make it to the Finals, the Bulls need to get hot now. Win one in Miami, win in Chicago, and take it all. Home court advantage means nothing if we don’t win big in game 4. I still believe the Bulls are the best team in the East, now they need to believe it too. I see it going to seven games, I just hope we get through game 4 and 5 with a W. Hit em up D. Rose and do what u do best, drive the hole and cool off the Heat.

Its Time To Celebrate, Well Almost.

By Philip DeVeno | May 12, 2011

I must say sport fans, I’m a believer. I truly think the Bulls can do it. I know this, which ever team wins the first quarter wins the game. The best part is that the Bulls are playing as a team. I have imagined this type of basketball team in Chicago since it all ended not long ago in 1998. Well for the first time since the Jordan era ended, the Bulls are about to go to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat have basically destroyed the Boston Celtics, so this next series should show just what the Bulls are made of. This will be where you separate the men from the little boys. I see a Game Seven scenario for the next series. I would love to say a sweep against Lebron, Wade, Bosh, and crew, but that is highly unlikely. Im watching Game 6 against the Hawks tonight, and unless you live under a rock, so will you. Lets do what we do Chicago, lets win baby…
